Visual effects (VFX) are the process through which imagery is altered, created, or enhanced for live-action media that could not be captured during live-action filming due to it being costly, dangerous, impractical, or impossible to shoot. 

Today, a career in visual effects is very fulfilling and entirely rewarding because the sector offers a wide range of work possibilities for creative people. India's VFX and animation sector has been expanding steadily for the past ten years. Many well-known worldwide projects outsourced their visual effects work to India. Some instances include:


The popular HBO series "The Fearless Dragons" was created in Mumbai, while the Pune-based technique studio contributed to numerous Marvel films, including Black Panther and Infinity War. The Indian VFX sector grew from Rs. 54 billion in 2016 to over Rs. 80 billion in 2018 and Rs. 114 billion in 2020, according to FICCI-EY research. In the media and entertainment industries, India ranks third.

The animation and VFX industry rose by a stunning 23% between 2016 and 2017, which is 10% more than the media industry as a whole. A young, innovative, and creative mind is needed by the VFX industry to advance the field of VFX and animation. However, India is home to a large number of young, aspiring VFX and animation designers who are fostering the development of VFX media.
